How MyCuffs work

Air-inflated cuffs are placed on the arms or legs to control venous return using adjustable air pressure.

  • Individual pressure levels are set according to MyCuffs guidelines
  • Restricted venous return causes blood to pool in the working muscles
  • Reduced circulation disrupts muscle metabolism, increasing lactate production as muscles work in low-oxygen conditions — leading to increased protein synthesis
  • Faster muscle fatigue forces greater activation of Type II muscle fibers, resulting in increased strength and muscle hypertrophy
  • This also boosts the body’s hormone production, especially GH (growth hormone) and IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor), which are typically stimulated only when training with heavy loads

How MyCuffs works - in a nutshell

  1. Place the cuffs on your arms or legs.
  2. Adjust the pressure individually.
  3. Train with a light load : e.g. 20–30% 1RM, classic set formula 30-15-15-15 with short (≈30 s) set recoveries; aerobically 10–20 min of light walking/cycling.
  4. Benefits : metabolic stress increases, type II muscle cells are recruited, protein synthesis is activated , and the body adapts – the muscle gets stronger and bigger .
